Back in the saddle

By: Ryan, on July 26, 2009

I finally got back to SLC after all the traveling and wedding shenanigans. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do fitness wise (I spent the last 3 weeks eating and drinking wine) so I set out on the bike at 6am on Friday. I threw on my lycra and decided to hit Wasatch BLVD for an easy 1hr ride.

Wasatch BLVD

It hurt, really badly. I felt like I was dragging a couple of cinder blocks behind my bike. My speed was dismal, my HR was out of control, and overall I felt terrible. Luckily, I have a lot of motivation to get back in shape and fast. I’m signing up for the ULCER this week.

Some stats:

Time: 1:03:54

Distance: 17.56 miles

Avg HR: 144

Max HR: 183

Altitude: 600 feet.

Some gear I used:

I lost my Garmin and didn’t rock anything new on this ride, just that sweet Reebok heart rate monitor from woot.com
